The BSEE degree offered by BYU is a traditional EE degree, recognized worldwide by employers of engineers and accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
The electrical engineering field is quite broad and encompasses such areas as computer systems, radio frequency systems, integrated circuits, microwaves, lasers, antennas, signal processing systems, and others. Now that the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering offers a BS in Computer Engineering in addition to the BS in Electrical Engineering, the structure of each degree should be explained. The requirements for the B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering are available on-line.
If you would like to speak to a faculty advisor regarding the electrical engineering program, please contact in Room 459B CB to arrange an appointment with an appropriate advisor.
In addition, there is a discussion on the relationship between both degrees offered by the department and reasons why you might choose one or the other.
