Shiuh-hua Wood Chiang, associate professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Brigham Young University, has been named the 2025 Best Associate Editor for the IEEE Open Journal of Circuits and Systems (OJCAS).
The award recognizes outstanding contributions to the peer review process and excellence in maintaining the technical quality of the journal. In the official recognition, journal leadership praised Chiang’s “thoroughness, timeliness, and dedication” in supporting rigorous and fair peer review, noting that his efforts have been acknowledged by the Editor-in-Chief and Associate Editors-in-Chief.
OJCAS is a peer reviewed, open access journal published by the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society. It serves as a global platform for research spanning the theory, design, and implementation of circuits and systems, helping advance both education and innovation in the field.
Chiang joined BYU’s ECE faculty in 2014 and conducts research in low power RF, analog, and mixed signal circuits for communication and sensing applications. In addition to his research, he actively contributes to the broader academic community through editorial service, including his role with OJCAS.
Reflecting on the recognition, Chiang expressed appreciation for the collaborative effort behind the journal’s success. He thanked fellow editors and reviewers who work behind the scenes to ensure high quality publications, noting that it has been a privilege to work alongside them. He also emphasized the broader impact of the journal, sharing his hope that OJCAS continues to make a meaningful difference in education and technical work worldwide.
This recognition highlights both individual excellence and the vital role of peer review in advancing engineering research. It also underscores BYU ECE’s continued leadership and service within the global engineering community.
