EC EN 697R: Research
The EC EN 697R Research class allows you to receive additional credit for your Master’s or PhD research work, beyond those offered by the IT&C 699R Thesis, EC EN 699R Thesis, and EC EN 799R Dissertation classes.
Q: How do I Enroll?
A: Registration is done through add code only. Please fill out and follow the instructions on this form:
Q: How many credits of EC EN 697R can I take?
A: This depends on both the program you are enrolled in and the approval of your advisor and committee. Review the updated program requirements at the links below and discuss with your advisor whether your research project warrants taking additional research credits. Your program of study must still be approved by your graduate committee, and you must still take the required number of IT&C 699R/EC EN 699R/EC EN 799R credits.
Q: When will this class be offered?
A: You can enroll in EC EN 697R credits any semester.
Q: Will I receive a grade in the class?
A: EC EN 697R is a credit/no-credit class.
Q: Will the class meet in person? Are there deliverables?
A: There are no in-person classes or assignments. You can discuss with your advisor what you should work on and complete during the semester to earn credit for the class.
Q: Can I take EC EN 697R more than once?
A: Yes, you can take the class more than once, but make sure you are aware of your program requirements, and the maximum number of EC EN 697R credits that can be applied to your program.
Q: Will I get paid for research work while taking this class?
A: You should discuss with your advisor whether taking EC EN 697R will affect your research assistantship (RA) payments, and if on a timecard, when to clock in and out. This is similar to taking IT&C 699R/EC EN 699R/EC EN 799R credits.
