BYU Capstone held its annual Presentations and Design Fair on April 4, 2019. Presentations from 45 different Capstone teams were followed by a Design Fair in the WSC Ballroom. Teams presented the designs and prototypes that they have been working on during Fall and Winter semesters.

The Capstone schedule begins at the start of Fall semester. Students are given a list of all the projects, and they rank their interest in each one. They are then assigned to a project accordingly. For the next several months, students identify market requirements, design, build, and test the prototype or product requested by the sponsor. The Final Presentations and Design Fair in April is the opportunity they have to show off their results to the public, project sponsors, mentors, and other students.

Some of the projects titles included Radar Polar Bear Detection Systems, Antenna Properties Demonstrator, Mars Rover Competition, Multi-channel Optical Spectrum Analyzer System, Simultaneous All Directions Phased Array, Auto Aimed Laser Communications, Bristol Standard Asynchronous Protocol Analyzer, and many more.

During the event, juniors in their respective engineering programs signed up to participate in Capstone Fall 2019, looking forward to the opportunity they have next year to show what they have learned and created.
