The BYU Electrical and Computer Engineering Department is proud to recognize Steve Lindsey, Chief Information and Technology Officer at LiveView Technologies (LVT), as the 2025 Honored Alumnus. A BYU graduate whose career spans software development, electronics design, and network engineering, Steve has built an impressive legacy of technical innovation and leadership.
Before joining LVT in 2011, Steve led development at Novell and i3 Technologies, honing the skills that would later fuel LVT’s rapid growth. At LVT, he transformed a basic video monitoring system into a nationwide, cloud-based security and data platform. His visionary leadership helped establish LVT as a leader in intelligent, off-the-grid surveillance solutions. Known for his collaborative style and mentoring spirit, Steve continues to inspire a culture of creativity and teamwork.
As part of his recognition, Steve returned to campus to speak at a department seminar, where he shared insights from his entrepreneurial journey. Drawing on his experience growing LVT, he compared building a company to running an endurance race, emphasizing the importance of knowing your “why” when the challenges of mile 80 hit. His closing advice left a lasting impression on students: “Your value as a person has nothing to do with your income.”
The seminar was both engaging and deeply inspiring, encouraging students to approach their careers with purpose, resilience, and integrity. The department is honored to celebrate Steve Lindsey for his professional achievements, his mentorship, and his continued commitment to the values that define BYU Engineering.
