Chris Hogstrom and Chris Nash won first place in the undergraduate category at the 2015 International Telemetering Contest for their paper entitled ""Software Defined Radio for SOQPSK."" The paper was presented Wednesday, 28 October 2015, at the International Telemetering Conference in Las Vegas, NV.
The paper was based on their work as undergraduate research assistants last year. The paper describes the combination of a commercial off-the-shelf software defined radio, the ""ZYBO"" board used in the undergraduate core, and a bit error rate tester to form a complete SOQPSK demodulator. The project was mentored by Prof. Michael Rice.
