Barry Lunt (Ph.D.) is a Full Professor in Information Technology, and has been with BYU since 1992. He has also taught at Utah State University and Snow College. Prior to his work in academics he worked for seven years as a design engineer for IBM in Tucson, AZ. He has consulted for several companies along the Wasatch Front, and has worked summer internships for Bell Labs (now Lucent Technologies), Larson - Davis (Provo), IBM (Vermont), and Micron Technologies (Boise, ID and Lehi, UT). His research areas are long-term computer data storage and engineering and computing education. He is the proud father of five children and has fourteen grandchildren.
