I am an assistant professor in the Mathematics and Statistics department at USU where I do research and teaching in machine learning and data science. I have a BS and MS in electrical engineering from BYU where I worked on radar image analysis. I then obtained an MS in mathematics and a PhD in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan where I focused on machine learning. I then did a post doctorate at Yale University in the Genetics department and Applied Math program where I focused on developing new machine learning methods for analyzing biomedical data. I teach courses on deep learning and machine learning.
