After graduating from BYU (BSEE 1987), I attended UPT for the USAF at Reese AFB. I was then assigned to Dyess AFB as a C-130 pilot. In 1993, I took a position as a Project Engineer at LAAFB working for the DMSP SPO (a defense weather satellite system). I left active duty in 1997. I returned to flying the C-130 for the ANG at Channel Islands ANGB at near Point Mugu NAS near Ventura, CA. At the same time, I began work with the Hughes Aircraft Corporation in El Segundo, CA as a software engineer. I worked on the ALR-67V3 (Radar Warning Receiver for the F-18 E/F Super Hornet). I worked on CAD/CAM software for about 6 years. I have been working on simulation software since 2004. I worked at Hill AFB as a member of the 309th SWEG from 2012 until 2019. I currently work for the Joint Simulation Environment at Edwards AFB as a software integration engineer. I am a subject matter expert for DIS (Distributed Interactive Simulation) application layer protocol and for TDL (tactical datalink) simulation.
