Dr. Joshua Mangelson Joins ECE Faculty

Dr. Joshua Mangelson is coming to us from his one-year post-doc in the Field of Robotics Center at Carnegie Mellon University. Dr. Mangelson is an alumnus of BYU and the University of Michigan. When he was here as an undergraduate student, he was the digital lab director and a teaching assistant for ECEN 220 (Fundamentals of Digital Systems) and ECEN 320 (Digital System Design). He also did research with Dr. Nelson in the Configurable Computing Lab and was a TA in the Math Lab.

Chip Camp Goes Virtual

Every summer, bright young minds gather together on BYU campus to learn the secrets of engineering at Chip Camp. The department staffs full-time ECE students to lead these middle schoolers in exercises designed to open their eyes to the possibilities within the electrical and computer engineering fields. It’s three days of fun with educational undertones.

The program is ideal for IT&C professionals and those who have recently completed a technical undergraduate degree who are anxious to delve deep into a specific area of IT&C.
